Things to know about brunching in Toronto
Pro Tip: Most of the Brunch Spots in Toronto don’t offer reservations for brunch during weekends. That’s why we suggest to go early around 10 am, if you don’t want to wait long in the que.
Also you can find some good franchise restaurants in Toronto, but after testing many of them, not all the branches of a franchise are offering the same quality (at least not here in Toronto). So we only offer the branches we loved for the best brunch experience in Toronto.
Brunch Toronto: Downtown
Downtown Toronto is the heart of the city and what we love about it is its mix of trendy Cafรฉs, top restaurants and cozy spots. You just need to walk up and down the Queen street west or King Street for the biggest food scenery of Toronto international cuisine.
But if you want to eat like a local, we’ll show you the best options for a good breakfast in Toronto downtown below.
1- Evviva Breakfast and Lunch
Evviva restaurant is a new franchise I really love, not only because of it’s great breakfast, but also for it’s beautiful atmosphere. Yes the decoration is bloomy, elegant and has a kind of coziness. See below our photos, it gives you the spring feeling all year round.

We have so many favorite dishes, so let’s start with the brunch. Definitely top on my list is always the veggie omelets with their fresh cube-like home fries. It’s sooooo good. Also the egg benedicts are amazing.
If you’re more into a real lunch option, I would definitely go for the salmon dish, if you’re a fish lover. Also the chicken club sandwich is another favorite of mine. The prices are really good for the big portions and the quality.
Also during the week, you can do reservations and I highly recommend it, except weekends. They also have 2 locations in downtown Toronto. One at 25 Lower Simcoe St and the other one at 56 Wellesley Street. They’re open daily from 7am – 5pm and you can do reservations except during weekends. Book your table here.

2. L’Avenue Toronto
Although it’s not located at core downtown, but it’s just a 10 minutes walk from the Union Station, at the new Toronto’s shopping mall, The Well. It’s definitely worth the visit for both the food and the ambiance.
We both love it’s kind of chic, industrial interiors with a vibrant atmosphere. It’s the best place to go with friends at the weekend to celebrate or just to meet up. The Food is beautiful, yes really very colorful and you love to eat that plate up. Also the portions are huge with a great quality.
One of our favorite dishes is the most famous one for brunch Toronto lovers. The one and only lemon-cream pancakes topped with blueberry. Although I’m not much into pancakes, but this is a must-try. The dishes are great for photography and Instagram reels too. No reservations during weekend.
Brunch Toronto: Kensington Market
If you’re visiting Toronto for the first time, Kensington Market should be on your list. Kensington Market is the most vibrant foodie location with vintage shops, colorful street art, cozy cafes and you have local bakeries and food spots from all around the world.
If you’re a foodie Kensington Market should definitely be on your list. Also it has a kind of Latin American style and it’s a pedestrian area. You can basically have breakfast, lunch and dinner there.
For a cozy brunch Toronto spot, specially by good weather, I love to go to 2 bakeries in Kensington Market. They’re both famous for their home-made pastries and good vibes.
1. Blackbird Bakery Kensington Market
Although they have 3 shops in Toronto downtown, I love the one at the Kensington Market the most. For a fast and delicious to-go brunch in Toronto, this is a great option. At Blackbird you’ll get fresh bread and pastries, sandwiches and more right from the oven.
Check my video on Youtube about the best eats at Kensington Market
My favorite pastry is the Almond Croissant and it’s exactly the way it should be, crunchy, fresh and simply delicious. Also the sandwiches are great for those who just want to drag a brunch in Toronto.

Also we love the truffle scrambled eggs on crispy toast sandwich with arugula and parmesan. It’s located at 172 Baldwin Street at Kensington Market and they’re open from 9am – 6pm daily except Sunday from 10am-5pm.
So for brunch Toronto, Blackbird Bakery is basically a great place for breakfast to go, or picking up a delicious pastry or sandwich. But you can’t sit there.

2. Little Pebbles Cafรฉ
Another trendy cafรฉ and bakery at Kensington Market is the little Pebbles Cafรฉ. It’s a perfect stop for Brunch Toronto lovers looking for something surprising, different and epic.
Although it might look very French at the beginning but you’ll see a touch of international cuisine in all their pastries. And of course they are famous for their creative Croissant Recipes. So I almost tried all of them and my favorite is definitely the most viral Kunafa pistachio Croissant (as you see below). Also you don’t want to miss their Tiramisu latte which is best to start your mornings with.
The Cafรฉ itself is a cozy little space, but there are some seats available, but it’s trendy to stand outside of the little Pebbles Cafรฉ and eat or drink your breakfast. They also have lots of Gluten Free and Vegan options as well. They are open daily from 10am to 6pm.

Brunch Toronto: Bayview (Leaside)
One of our favorite places to brunch in Toronto is Bayview Leaside and that’s because it’s full of small, cozy restaurants with different cuisines. No matter how many times we visit Leaside, we still find a new spot for brunch.
You can find authentic French patisseries to Canadian brunch spots. Also it’s a great place to take a walk along the street, before or after dining, as it’s full of small boutiques and interesting shops. And that makes it a great place for a first-time Date in Toronto or a romantic Sunday Brunch.

1. Ramona’s Kitchen
Ramona’s Kitchen is our favorite brunch spot in Toronto’s Bayview Ave and we often go there. This cozy little restaurant has a warm and inviting atmosphere. Also the presentation and the ingredients are having a high-quality and feels like a fine-dining.
Our favorites are the egg benny with mushroom and home-made potatoes. Also we love the omelets there, but if you love Salmon, you should try their Smoked Salmon bennies with avocado and I’m sure it will steal your heart
located at 1608 Bayview Ave, Toronto and are open Mon-Fri from 9am and Saturday and Sunday from 8 am. We normally go there around 9:30am and never had to wait longer than 10 minutes. But it’s definitely worth it. Ramona’s Kitchen has another branch in Richmond Hill as well, But this is our favorite one.

2. Patisserie La Cigogne
We love to find authentic French patisseries in Toronto with a real Parisian flair and this is one of those. A true Parisian Brunch Toronto spot at 1626 Bayview Ave. Our favorite is definitely the Crepes which is so thin and fantastic. The only similar Crepe I’ve had, it was in Paris itself.
Also the Baguette with a herbal Goat Creme Cheese is another favorite of mine. If you’re looking for an Omelets style breakfast in Toronto, they also offer 2 different omelets as well as a very delicious Croque Madame ( Toasted brioche layered with ham & Swiss cheese).
They are open daily from 8 am to 7 pm. Also Fridays and Saturdays they’re open till 8pm. You can’t make a reservation as they only have limited tables, but even on weekends, if you go early around 9-10 am you’ll find a table.

Top Brunch Toronto & GTA
If you’re in Toronto or living outside Toronto, there are some great franchise brunch places you can almost find everywhere. We tried almost all the franchise brunch places and these 2 are definitely our favorite ones.
As a bigger franchise brand, it’s normally difficult to keep your standards and quality like a home-made, but we tried the following 2 options in different locations all over the GTA and found it a great option.
These are the best if you’re looking for a family brunch in Toronto, Brunch in Yorkville Toronto, Brunch North York Toronto, Brunch in Leslieville, Brunch in Brampton, Brunch in Burlington and Sunday brunch Toronto, because they are both open on Sundays too.
1. Pur and Simple
We love this trendy Brunch place in Toronto and mostly in GTA (Greater Toronto Area). And it’s not just for their fantastic beef egg benedicts, it’s also the elegant and cozy interiors. You can find them almost everywhere around Toronto. You can check their locations here.
I am in love with their beef egg benedict and you can also have a gluten free option of the bread. Also the waffles are just so fresh and fantastic. It’s a great place to have a family brunch as well with a bigger group.
We love to have a Sunday brunch at their new place at Bayview village, but you have to go there early like at 9am. Also you can’t make any reservations during the weekend and you might need to wait a bit longer, but it’s definitely worth it.

Another must-try is their smoothie with mango and orange. Also if you’re looking for a vegetarian brunch Toronto, they have a fantastic 3-egg veggie omelet with home-made cube-like fries. The veggie omelet is so good. They are also opening their first shop in Toronto very soon.

2. Demetres
If you have a sweet tooth and looking for a sweet brunch, my personal favorite is definitely Demetres. And that’s because the dishes are huge, delicious and epic with a lot of healthy fruits. They are famous for their home-made ice cream, so make sure you try that.
You can find Demetres restaurants almost everywhere, but my favorite ones are the one at Distillery district with a huge space and the one at shops at Don Mills. Also it’s a great place for bigger groups or Sunday family brunch.
Our personal favorites are the waffles and Crepes. I normally take the standard crepe with Nutella and fruits of the season. At Distillery District, they also have a great place to sit outside by the fire and we love that.
Gluten Free Brunch Toronto: They also have vegan options and most of their ice cream flavors are gluten-free, so you can definitely mix and match something.

Brunch Toronto: Best Brunch in Yorkville
Yorkville is one of Toronto’s most stylish areas and it’s famous for it’s luxurious flair. Also it’s a very vibrant part of city with elegant boutiques and high-end eateries. We really enjoy this area for relaxed brunch Toronto flair and if you’re looking for a special place for the mother’s day brunch in Toronto, we highly recommend it.
There are actually so many good spots to do brunch in Yorkville and we are still exploring more in this part of the city, but these are the best brunch spots in Yorkville Toronto, we tried till now.
1. Amadeus Patisserie
As you might know by now, we are hunting good French patisseries in the town and Amadeus is actually our most favorite one. They have 2 locations and the first one is at Thornhill. But the good news is that they just opened their second location at Yorkville Toronto this year.
I can’t even tell you my favorites, because I have so many and everything I tried from bread to cakes was so delicious and just right to the point. So if you’re looking for a sweet breakfast, this is the best place for brunch in Toronto.
Although they only have a limited space to sit, but we love to grab a croissant with a cappuccino and just sit outside on a bank and enjoy it. Yorkville offers many outdoor sitting options. This Amazing Patisserie in Yorkville is open from 7:30 am to 7:30 pm and Sundays they’re open from 8am – 7pm.
