I know that Germany and specially Munich is famous for beer, goulash, and delicious sausages. But believe me, there are so many tastier things in this city than what you think.
Here are some of the best Bavarian food in Munich that you have to try:
- Schweinshaxe (Pork Knuckle): The Skin is so crispy and you can almost find it in all the restaurants in Munich. You should definitely try it, if you like Pork.
- Weißwurst: We love to eat this sausage (wurst) with sweet mustard as a brunch.
- Schweinebraten: is another fantastic Bavarian dish which is a slow-roasted pork with crispy crackling and it’s so tender. It will be served with dumplings.
- Schnitzel: The best in the world and I can’t get enough from it. Normally it’s from Pork, but for those who doesn’t like to eat pork, go for the Wienerschnitzel which is from veal.
- Zwiebelrostbraten: It’s actually a kind of Bavarian Steak from Beef which is served with a wine sauce, potatoes and caramelized onion. So dellicious!

We’ll cover from budget restaurants to top 5-star restaurants in Munich and where you can have a famous actor or football players dining next to you.
Pro Tip: You can find the best traditional restaurants in the downtown of Munich. The traditional Bavarian restaurants are mostly offering home-made dishes with high quality food, but fair prices.
Well, that’s because we (as locals) love to eat traditional food in the middle of the city. Also Munich is not a very big city, so if someone serves low quality food, they won’t survive. That’s why we have fantastic Traditional Restaurants in Munich directly in the city center. Let’s dive in!
1- Spatenhaus an der Oper
The first restaurant, I’ll talk about today is one of the most famous restaurants in Munich. What I also love about this restaurant, is that it’s located in one of the hype areas of the city, at the Theatinerstrasse, facing the national theatre of Munich.
Additionally it’s located at the beginning of the most expensive street in Munich, which is the Maximillian Strasse (Street). Maximillian Street which is home to many luxury brands and hotels. But no worries the prices are still quite mid-range and won’t break the bank.
Spatenhaus is built in a beautiful Bavarian building with two stories and actually we love to sit on the second floor. This restaurant serves authentic Bavarian food with the best home-made quality. I definitely recommend a reservation, as it can get quite busy at night or during the touristic season. You can book here.
What to eat at Spatenhaus:
Well, my favorite food in this restaurant and definitely a must eat is the starter board with different sausages and cheese. My favorite main dish is the “Schweinshaxe” (½ pork knuckle), and they marinate by hand and let them rest for 2 days. It’s sooooo delicious. If you don’t like Pork, they also have fantastic dishes with beef, duck or fish.
Schweinshaxe, is one of Bavaria’s most iconic dishes: it’s a huge, slow-roasted pork’s knuckle with a crispy skin. It roast for hours until the inside is juicy and outside becomes crackling. Although once was a simple dish for farmers, now it’s a delicate dish and prat of the culture.
2- Andechser Am Dom: The Beer Culture of Munich
The next restaurant I want to talk about is more than just a restaurant, it’s part of the history of Munich. the Andechser am Dom is our most favorite place to dine near Frauenkirche (church of our lady). It’s where local love to gather.
Basically this restaurant belongs to the Kloster Andechs, a monastery where monks have been brewing amazing beer since the 1400s.
What is the Story of Andechser Monestry?
Although the Andechser restaurant is located in the heart of old town, but the Andechser Kloser is one of the best day trips from Munich. Back in the day, people would hike up to the monastery on the “Holy Mountain” for pilgrimage and stayed to enjoy the beer.
Their famous brews like the Andechser Doppelbock Dunkel and Export Hell are still made using old monk recipes, super rich, super smooth, and so delicious.
How to get to Andechser Monetstry from Munich?
If you like to visit the Monestry itself, which I highly recommend, it’s only 40 minutes ride from Munich. It’s one of the best places to experience the true Bavarian food and beer culture.
Here is how you can get from Munich to Kloster Andechs: Get the S-Bahn (S8) from Marienplatz (main square of the town), towards Herrsching and in etwa 50 minutes you’ll be in Herrsching. From there take the bus 951 to Andechs (15 min). Or just walk up there which takes about an hour -1,5 with a fantastic views and easy hik.
What to eat at Andechser am Dom
Now let’s go back to the restaurant which is Located next to the symbol of Munich (the one and only Frauenkirche. Also it’s one of the most famous Bavarian restaurants in Munich. If you want to know more about Frauenkirche (church of our lady), read my guide about the must-visit places in Munich.
After visiting the Frauenkirche, you can have a fantastic Wienerschnitzel with Bavarian potato salad and an Andechser Doppelbock Dunkeles Beer. This Beer is their famous dark beer that’s strong, malty and absolutely delicious.
Wienerschnitzel: As you all know, German Schnitzel is world-famous and truly fantastic. But we also offer Wiener Schnitzel which is originally from Austria. It’s basically an XXL thin veal meat in a crunchy breadcrumbs. It will be served with lemon and potato salad.
Also this is the go-to place for many famous people like actors and celebrities, but no worries the prices are fair and mid-range. You can find some pictures of the celebrities on the wall and the atmosphere is cozy. I suggest to book in advance!

3- Hofbräuhaus
Visiting the traditional Hofbräuhaus in Munich, should definitely be on your list! This beautiful traditional restaurant, located in the heart of the old town of Munich (Am Platzl) is not only the home to true Bavarian beer culture, but it’s also famous for it’s atmosphere, live Bavarian music and so much more.
Even the square where it’s located is as if out of a fairy-tale, even if you don’t want to stay there to eat or drink, I still recommend to walk in the restaurant and just visit the building.
The History of Hofbräuhaus
Founded in 1589 by the Bavarian royals, it was originally created to brew beer exclusively for the king, and today it’s the most famous beer hall in the world.
Pro Tip: When you walk in, you’re stepping into centuries of Bavarian culture: long wooden tables, brass bands playing live music, servers in dirndls carrying giant Maß beers, and very loud. It’s basically like a big family party with music and good food.
Also as locals, we often go there to have a breakfast or even at night. Even historical figures like Mozart drank beer there! Also visit the second floor and see the biergarten from above. I love that coziness.
What to eat at Hofbräuhaus
So let’s talk about the most important part! If you’re a beer-lover, you should try the Hofbräu Original. For the food, you have so many options and although it’s a very touristic restaurant, but the quality is still fantastic.
If you love pork, I recommend a Schweinshaxe. But my favorite there is the Halbes Hendl, which is a half of a roasted chicken.
Halbes Hendl: is a true Bavarian classic and although it might look like a normal roasted chicken, but beleive me it’s more than that. Not many restaurants are serving it, as it needs to be served very fresh to have the best taste. That’s why you can get it at Hofbräuhaus or Oktoberfest.
Viktualienmarkt
It’s Munich’s open-air food market and one of the city’s most charming spots, filled with fresh product, Bavarian snacks, flowers, cheeses, and little food stands. There are also beer gartens within the markt and it’s a fantastic cozy place to sit, relax and enjoy the food and drinks. It’s only 5 minutes walk from Marienplatz. Best Restaurants in Munich, Viktualienmarkt
Well if you’re a foodie, you can’t skip Viktualienmarkt and it’s a must-visit. There are lots of stalls and good restaurants around Viktualienmarkt, but here are some of my favorites and the most famous ones that local always go back there.
4-Zum Alten Markt
First let’s start with a gourmet restaurant but affordable one. I love this restaurant because not only the food is fantastic, but you feel like you’re in a fairytale Bavarian Chalet, dining with some freinds. Yes it’s small, cozy and wooden.
I love this cute restaurant, specially for a romantic dinner or during Christmas with their colorful Christmas decor. “Zum Alten Markt” is one of the restaurants, we love to go there as a local. It’s definitely better to book your table in advance.
What to eat at “Zum Alten Markt”
Everything I have eaten there so far, has been delicious, and I always also eat a dessert there. Besides the cooks are very creative and offer local and seasonal dishes like venison goulash or rabbit.
My favorite main dish here is definitely the Salmon plate, which is very delicious and beautifully represented. Also the grilled veal filet is one of the best ones, I’ve ever had. Don’t forget to try one of their seasonal desserts. So if you’re visiting Munich, this restaurant should be on your bucket list.
Additionally to the good restaurants around Viktualienmarkt, there are also some famous stalls that we love to just grab a snack and enjoy. So if you’re just craving a delicious snack-to-go with a good beer, here is another favorite of mine:
5- Kleiner Ochs’nbrater
You can also just grab a delicious Ochs’n Semmel from the famous stall “Kleiner Ochs’nbrater” and sit outside in the biergarten and enjoy the cozy atmosphere. We love to do that.
The Ochs’n Semmel is a fresh roasted ox on the Bavarian bread with onions. As simple as it sounds, but it’s sooo delicious.
6- El Gaucho Restaurant
Well, if you are into steak, another restaurant that I really like at the Viktualienmarkt is the El Gaucho restaurant. It’s a bit hidden, so here is how you go there: if you go from Marienplatz toward Viktualienmarkt, it is located at the end of Viktualienmarkt at the beginning of the Blumenstrasse.
If you’re craving steak and romantic dinner, you should definitely try this restaurant. It’s the best restaurant in Munich for having a gourmet steak with reasonable prices and cozy atmosphere.
It’s inspired by the Argentina grilling tradition, but they also have some Bavarian dishes, like Fleischpflanzerl. If you want to go there at night, I definitely recommend making a reservation.
Fleischpflanzerl
is a bavarian Meatball made from veal meat, herbs, onions and breadcrumbs. We normally eat it with mustard and potato salad.
Try the ones at the El Gaucho Restaurant, we loved it. They are golden and crispy on the outside while staying juicy inside.
What to eat at El Gaucho Restaurant?
One dish that I definitely recommend you try is the Bavarian Fleischpflanzerl, if you don’t want to eat steak. The price of the dishes are also quite reasonable. Let’s talk about the steaks: there are different destinations where the meats are coming from and they also have Bavarian beef, which is also very delicious.
I love the Dry Aged Beef selection there and the beef is coming directly from Austria and dries at least for about 28 days. My favorite is the Queen’s Cut, which is actually filet and is extremely delicious and tender. They also have a beautiful garden in the warm months, where you can sit outside.
7- Ratskeller Restaurant
Another beautiful restaurant in Munich, is the Ratskeller restaurant. I say beautiful, because it’s not only one of the oldest traditional restaurants, but the paintings and walls inside are as fascinating as the food.
This restaurant is one of the oldest ones in Munich dates back to the late 19th/early 20th century. This restaurant is located right below the Munich’s City Hall (Rathaus), and it’s huge. It has more than 1,000 seats and 15 roooms, all in a Bavarian traditional ambience.
What to eat at Ratskellers?
As for the food and drink, my favorite there is the classic pork knuckle. We also go there often for a traditional weisswurst breakfast.
What is Weisswurst Breakfast?
We love the traditional Weißwurst breakfast. These white sausages are made of veal, pork, parsley and onion. it’s so delicate and it will be served in a bowl of hot water, never grilled and we’ll remove the skin and eat the meat with sweet mustard and pretzel.
Of course it should be accompanied with Weißbier, the Munich way.
8- Cafe Glockenspiel
If you want to have the view of the Rathaus, this restaurant is your place to go. Keep in mind that this restaurant has two parts, One part of the restaurant is facing the backyard which is also beautiful, but you won’t have the view of Marienplatz.
When reserving or asking for a table, you can ask if you’re lucky and can get one of those seats, but even if you sit at the second table rows, you still have the fantastic view. The restaurant is on the higher floors.
It’s a true hidden gem, as most of the tourists don’t know about it. We often go there for the coffee time, as they also have a great selection of cakes and sweets. Also it’s a great place for an elegant brunch.
Glockenspiel
The Glockenspiel is Munich’s famous clock in Marienplatz, that plays music and moves its life-size figures every day, and it’s one of the city’s most iconic sights. It’s a real Fairytale. If you want to know more about it, read my guide about 15 best things to do in Munich.
Café Glockenspiel is named after it because the café sits right across from the clock tower.
What to eat at Glockenspiel
This restaurant’s dishes are mostly modern and trendy. Dishes are fantastic and I love the creative fusion kitchen they have. I love the salads and Pasta dishes. My favorit is the 3 Kalbs-Pflanzerl with senf sauce and roasted onion.
Although it has a top location, but the prices are still very reasonable. Their most expensive dish is the grilled Fish plate for $30. After you meal, I suggest to try one of the cakes or the home-made Apfelstrudel. It’s unbeatable.
9- Hackerhaus
Hackerhaus is just a short walk from Marienplatz towards Sendlinger Tor. I love this restaurant because it’s so cozy and the rooms are a bit smaller and friendlier. They also a wintergarden on the back side, where you can also sit there in winter, but I also like the wooden interior very much.
This restaurant is one of Munich’s historical inns and the building dates back to an old Bavarian Brewery from 1400s, which is part of the Hacker-Pschorr brewery today. They are famous for making their own sausages and meat specialties. Also by the warm weather, you can sit outside and enjoy the old city vibe.

What to eat at Hackerhaus
As said they are famous for having their own in-house butcher and I love their Zwiebelrostbraten with fresh Rosmary potatos and roasted onion. Don’t forget to drink a Hacker-Pschorr Münchner Hell or my favorite, the one and only Naturtrübes Kellerbier.
You might know Hacker-Pschorr from Oktoberfest, as they have a big tent there and one of the favorite ones to visit.

Also Their Goulash with spätzle, is fantastic. If you’re vegetarian, the Käsespätzle (egg noodles with melted cheese) is also a great option to try.
Zwiebelrostbraten
It’s another typical Bavarian dish, which is basically a steak in red wine-gravy sauce. It’s mostly served with spätzle or roasted potato.
The Meat might feel a bit firm to the bite, but that’s because the Bavarian rind is very muscular. The Roast onions on the top, make the whole difference. It’s definitely one of my favorites.
10-Löwenbräukeller Restaurant
Let’s get out of the city center of Munich and go a bit further to another beautiful part of the Munich’s city. Yessss, the Museum Quarter of Munich, which is located around the Königsplatz. That’s basically the heart of Munich’s Museum Quarter.
Our next favorite Restaurant is located only 5 minutes walk away from the Königsplatz and it’s called theLöwenbräukeller. This restaurant is a true hidden gem and is the best place to go after visiting museums like Pinakothek der Moderne or Alte Pinakothek.

So if you are visiting these museums, you should definitely make a stop at this historical restaurant. The building itself is one of the oldest in the city and as local we loved to go there, specially at the Octoberfest time. They are famous for their cozy Kindergarten and their Schweinsbraten.
What to eat at Löwenbräukeller
They have the best Schweinebraten in the town, which is another popular Bavarian dish, served with a gravy and Knödel.
Now what is Spätzle? Actually, here they also have Hendl which is extremely, extremely delicious, and it has different types that you can choose from.
Goulash & Spätzle
This is the ultimate Bavarian Duo and best for a cold weather. Goulash is the beef stew in a red wine gravy sauce, nicely flavored with red paprika.
Spätzle is made of eggs, water and flour and I call it German pasta. We basically soak it in the hot water, like pasta and just add butter and a pinch of salt. We also serve it with melted cheese, which is the German version of mac & cheese, but it’s softer.
11- Seehaus Restaurant
This resaurant is not only one of the most classy restaurants in Munich, but it also has the best view, being close to the lake in the middle of the Englishengarten. This beuatiful park is the biggest park in Europe and it’s definitely a must-visit on your list. Read our blog post about what to visit there and why you should visit.
Englishengarten is located in the heart of Schwabing quarter. Schwabing is one of the liveliest parts of Munich; it’s the university area where most of the students are living. That’s why most of Munich’s nightlife is there as well. You can also find many artisan shops and boutiques. I love to walk along all the side streets and do shop hopping.
How to reach Englishengarten from Marienplatz
You can easily walk from Marienplatz to Odeonsplatz and you’re already there. From Odeonsplatz it’s another 10 minutes walk to reach the enterance of the park. Or you can take the metro from Marienplatz, U3 or U6 towards Münchner Freiheit and hop off on the Gieselastrasse or Universität.
Well, Seehaus is located in the heart of the park and you’ll have to walk around 20 minutes to reach there. But it’s definitely worth it. What to eat at Seehaus
You can sit directly by the lake and enjoy your beer and a Pretzel in the biergarten or dine a gourmet dish in the restaurant. In the Biergarten, you can also get the more budget-friendly options like Leberkäse, Schweinsbraten or halbes Hendl with a selection of beers.
In Seehaus, you can have the traditional Bavarian dishes or fish dishes in a gourmet style. I normally take the see of the day dish and it’s always amazing.
What is Leberkäse
Leberkäse looks like a big meatloaf and it’s made of pork and beef. It’s baked and has a crispy crust. Although it’s called Leberkäse (Liver cheese), but that’s just the name, it has neither liver or cheese.
We usually eat it warm in a Semmel (which is a German bread like a burger bun but crusty). Or you can just have it as a plated meal with a potato salad. It’s a very heavy dish and very affordable one.
12- Cafe Tambosi
The next place we want to talk about, is so special because it’s Munich’s oldest café house and it’s till one of the most favorites by the locals. Café Tamsbosi is located at the Odeonsplatz and it’s a part of Munich’s history and Tea culture of the city.
We love to sit there and just watch the beauty of Odeonzplatz with a cup of tea or Coffee and one of their home-made cakes. It’s also next to the beaitufl Hofgarten and in summer you can enjoy a cozy lunch in their biergarten within the hofgarten.
I must say that the prices are a bit higher than the other Cafés, but Odeonsplatz and Theatine Strasse, are the some of the most expensive parts of Munich’s city, where you can find the high-end boutiques with gourmet restaurants. As said my recommendation is to go for a coffee and a home-made cake. I also love their tea selection.
13- Café Richard: More than a Bakery
Well, the next place we want to talk about is actually not a restaurant. But it’s a place that I can have my breakfast, lunch and cakes there. That being said, I can basically live there. Café Rischart, is one of the oldest bakeries in Munich that they still kept their quality as if it’s their first day.
What to eat at Café Richard
It was originally founded in 183, and it has many branches all over the city and even at the airport, but my favorite on is the one at Marienplatz. I definitely sugget you to take the XXL Creme Cheese Prezel (see below in my hand) for the breakfast and the curry chicken sandwich for a quick snack, if you don’t want a seated lunch.
German Bread is very famous and we have more than 3,000 varieties in Germany. Yes, it’s the capital of the world for bread, and you can feel it as you walk around. Nowhere else you can find so many fresh-made bakeries in Europe. Using whole grain and the ultimate bread crust, make the German bread very special.
14- Airbräu Brewery: The Best Airport Restaurant
This might be strange, but one of our best restaurants is located at the Airport Munich in Terminalstrasse. We normally fly overnight from Toronto to Munich and arrive around 11am. So we love to have our lunch there before heading to our hotel. (Most of the check-in times are at 3pm)
The special thing about Airbräu, is that it’s the first airport brewery. They produce the beer right at the airport, in front of your eyes. If you haven’t got a chance to try the weisswurst, may be you can have that on your way back at the Airbräu before your flight.
What to eat at Airbräu
My personal favorite is the wienerschnitzel, but honestly all their dishes are fantastic and home-made quality. The servers are nice and you feel like you’re siting in a Bavarian restaurant with wooden interiors.
Also I love the Sausages with a sauerkraut on the side. I love the Helles (light lager) or Radler there, but my husband always goes for the Dunkles.
Best Sausages in Munich
There are different types of Wurst (sausages) in Munich, and you can find them all in the traditional Bavarian restaurants, but here are the must-try ones.
Weißwurst
As said before, this is the most famous one in Bavaria and we eat it as a breakfast without the skin. It’s a delicate and delicious sausage made of Pork & Beef. Don’t forget a Helles bier with it.
Bratwurst
It’s the wurst that you know as a German sausage. It will be prepared on a barbeque or fried and served in a small sandwich-like bread with mustard. It’s very delicious and normally it’s served with a Krautsalad (German-style Coleslaw).
Wiener Wurst
Another one is Wiener Wurst, which is actually my favorite one and it has a kind of red color and will be prepared in the hot water. You can find it in both Turkey and Pork meat. It’s specially very delicious with a sweet mustard.
Nürnberger Bratwurst
As you can see, these are the smaller sausages from pork and it’s so tasty. Specially I loved the one we had at the hotel Holiday Inn -city, which is also a great affordable hotel directly in the city.

Best Vegan Restaurants in Munich
I must admit that German cuisine is more meaty than vegetarian, but there are many trendy restaurants in Munich, where you can find excellent vegan options. Even in the bavarian restaurants, you can see more vegan options coming up now, as there is a large vegan community in Germany.
But your best option in a Bavarian restaurant as a vegan, is the world famous German Potato Salad (Kartoffelsalad), which is normally just potato, vinegar and green onions.
Here are 2 of my favorite restaurants, where you can find delicate vegan dishes with great ingredients and they have different branches in the city:
15- Kaimug Taste Thai
This is one of my favorite go-to places, when I want to have a quick healthy lunch. It’s a Thai restaurant with a glutamate-free concept. Everything will be made fresh, even their curry sauces. So even if you’re not vegan and love Thai food, you have to try this.
My favorite dishes are the curry dishes, specially the mango-curry with rice. Don’t forget to try their mango lassi. Also the pad Thai with green curry is fantastic. They are located in different places in the downtown Munich. I normally go to the one at the Theatinerstrasse (in the passage called Fünf Höfe)

16- Prinz Myshkin
This vegetarian, vegan restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Munich, with a classy atmosphere and fantastic dishes. Although I’m not a vegetarian, but I love the Pasta and salad dishes there.
It’s just a few steps from Marienplatz, along the Sendlingerstr., in the Hackenstraße 2. My favorite dish is the Truffle Tagliatelle, as I love Truffle very much. Also you should try the green Thai curry with rice.
Bavarian Beer Culture First
Well, one of the things we have to consider is that Munich is the home of beer and many world famous breweries like Augustiner, Paulaner and Erdinger. When walking in the city, you can even smell it often, as we still have many small breweries within the city.
I’m sure you’ve heard of world’s biggest beer festival in Munich. Yes, the one and only Oktoberfest. There are thousands of visitors coming to Munich each year to enjoy the beer culture, biergartens and everything related to it. And I must say that we’re of it.

Breweries & their Restaurants in Munich
It’s good to know that most of Munich’s traditional restaurants, belong to the breweries, as a result of that each restaurant is offering it’s own beer. For example, you can only order Augustiner beer in Augustiner am Dom, which is one of the most famous restaurants in Munich.
On the other side, you’ll get Ayinger beer, in the Ayinger am Platzel (another good restaurant). That’s because beer also taste differently from different producers, so you can chose what to drink. Of course there are also other restaurants like Italian ones or trendy restaurants, which are offering a selection of the best brands.
Which Beer to drink?
Well, there are 3 major kinds of beers in Munich: The first one, which is also the most popular one is the Helles (Lager), It’s pale, golden and smooth. Although it’s light but it can be flavorful and we love to have it with Schnitzel or Schwinebraten. So you should definitely try this one.
The second one is the Dunkel (Dark Lager), which is Munich’s traditional dark beer. It’s actually my favorite but it’s slightly sweet and malty with an amazing dark brown color. If you like caramel-like flavors, you’ll like Dunkel and I eat it often with sausages and potato salad.
The third one is the Weißbier (Wheat Beer), which is cloudy and golden with a kind of fruity note. It’s one of the iconic beers in Munich and since the yeast is not filtered out, you’ll see that cloudy kind of gold. We’re mostly drinking it with our Weißwurst breakfast, which is another tradition, we’ll talk about here later.
Best of each beer type:
I love the Augustiner Helles, which is extremely refreshing without any bitterness. Also locals love the Tegernsee Helles, which is a smaller Brewery close to Munich at the beautiful Tegernsee (a Lake in the mountains of Tegernsee). And now most of the Biergartens have it also on Tap.
My favorite Weißbier (Wheat Beer) is Franziskaner and for Dunkel, I love the one from Erdinger, but this is my personal taste. Also nowadays, you can find all kinds of non alcoholic beers.
Oktoberfest Beer Warning: haha, but I really mean it. Oktoberfest Beer is truly stronger than other kinds of beer. Which means every 1-liter Maß is basically two beers. That’s why people go from “I feel great!” to “Where is my shoe?” in 20 minutes. So here is my Pro Tip: sip slowly, eat something heavy, drink water, and Prost!
What is Radler?
Radler is a kind of the lighter version of the beer. Basically it’s a mix of half beer, half lemonade and it’s bubbly, citrusy and refreshing. We call it biker beer, that means you can drink it and still perfectly bike the lakesides. We love Radler and drink it very often. Even back in Toronto, we found out that many bars are offering it here.

What are best restaurants in Munich with a view?
As said above, the most panoramic view of the Marienplatz is the best view, you can have in Munich. And you can definitely get that in Cafe Glockenspiel. If you like to see lakes and nature, the Seehaus im Englischen Garten is also very beautiful.
Also if you get a table by the window at Cafe Richart at Marienplatz on the second floor, you’re also close to the Rathaus.
What are the best trendy restaurants in Munich?
If you’re looking for a trendy fine-dining experience, my favorite is the Tantris, which is a two-Michelin-star gourmet restaurant with luxurious interiors. It’s perfect for the first dates.
Another trendy one, where you can also see famous faces very often, is the restaurant Brenner. It’s located in the most prestigious street in Munich, the Maximilian Strasse, close to the Four Season Hotel, it’s famous for it’s Italian-German style kitchen. My favorite dish is the barbeque seafood dish.
