About Us

Who We Are

We’re full-time travelers, photographers, digital nomads and travel bloggers. Hi! I’m Yasmin and along with my hubby Behrad, we’re traveling the world and we’re so glad to see you here. We are digital nomads and love to travel on budget and luxury, so we’ll talk about our own travel experiences and no-fluff advice. This page is about everything you might like to know about us.

Let’s start with my story: I was born into a traveler and food-lover family in Iran, where the kitchen was the heart of our home. With my grandmother as my guide, I became her loyal “sous chef,” whisking, kneading, and tasting my way into a lifelong love of culinary art. My Mom was a travel-lover and with her I almost visited the whole Europe and Middle East by the age of 25.

• We are both 50 since a year and a half and we’ve started travel blogging in 2024.
• We met in Iran as we were 6 years old and fell in love immediately till today… Exactly like in movies. Yes!
• Blogging is my full-time income and these days we’re traveling mostly in Europe and Middle East. Behrad is the photographer between us and the engineer. So whatever photography and technical you see here is from him.

Where we lived and Where we traveled?

I always knew there was more out there – So After schooling, my path led me to France, where I immersed myself in the art of cuisine. I lived almost a year in Lyon and 6 months in Paris. With a chef’s knife in one hand and a travel guide in the other, I sought out every chance to roam. Munich became our next home base—where we Lived 25 years (almost the biggest part of my life) and that gave us the chance to roam around Europe.

In between We also lived 3 years in Dubai and traveled in Asia, India, Iran and UAE. We explored every market, alley, and plate I could in Asia and the Middle East. That was a bit of adventure, that I learned a lot from that continent. 

​Since three years we’re living in Toronto and started our adventurous life here in Canada. Together, we capture the world one moment at a time—me behind the drone, him through the lens. Here on the blog, you’ll join us for every twist, turn, and taste as we journey across continents, exploring different cultures and cuisines and uncovering the hidden gems for you.

More about Our Adventures and Survivals 

Life hasn’t always been easy—I know this well, having been born during the Iran-Iraq war. But I believe in making the most of every opportunity life gives us, and that’s exactly what I’ve done. For nearly 30 years, I’ve traveled across continents, experiencing the beauty and wonders of this world. Here are my top 10 places that truly left me in awe:

1. Banff National Park, Canada – A place of untouched beauty that feels like pure magic.
2. Alborz Mountains: Northern Iran – Every step reveals a new, breathtaking landscape.
3. Cappadocia, Turkey – I loved this stunning land of unique rock formations and history.
4. Tegernsee, Bavaria – A peaceful lake surrounded by Alp mountains that I used to go for a short break.
5. The Duomo, Florence – A masterpiece of architecture that takes your breath away and is shining like a white stone.
6. Taj Mahal, India – For me it was like a symbol of love that is truly unforgettable.
7. Pompeii, Greece – History frozen in time, fascinating and painful and powerful.
8. Niagara Falls, Ontario –That source of Nature’s raw power, I can sit there and look at it for hours.
9. Burj Khalifa, Dubai – The world’s tallest building, an incredible project that I followed since the day one. 
10. and last but not least: Alhambra, Spain – with it’s Persian/Arabic/European architecture on the mountains. 

And of course this continues… Last year I’ve got stocked in Iran during my visit, as the war between Israel and Iran grew. I had to scape to Dubai with a train to northern Iran and fly to Dubai with the first flight went out of Iran. Yessss! it was terrifying but I made it… Adventures belong to our lives specially as travelers, but no risk, no fun!

About Our Travel Style

If you like to know more about us, I suggest to take a look at our travel style. As you see from the name of my Blog, Hungry Jetlagged, we are traveling from Toronto, Canada. As a full-time traveler, I had to find out practical ways to overcome my jetlag. Meanwhile, it really works well flying overnight from Toronto to Dubai and survive a 3-day-trip. And we are definitely traveling to explore more food delights and new cultures.

What we always include in our blog posts, are also the best activities and fun things to do in a place. Things like trail hiking on the mountains, biking along the lake and much more.

Together with my better half (as we say in German), my husband, we travel on a budget (bus rides, walking instead of taking taxis, sleeping in bed & Breakfasts) but we also like the luxury part of life (luxury resorts, Spa Hotels, luxury travels). So we will cover both kind of travel styles here.

Why are we blogging?

What you should also know about us is that we’re known in the family as Marco Polo couples. Friends are always asking us where to go next and what to visit there. And that was basically the idea behind starting our blog to share our adventures with you.

A Note: We share our experiences about All the places we personally traveled to. Also All the pictures and videos are taken personally by us, unless we have a guest writer or blogger who wants to share his own pics. In this case you can see the name of the writer. We also write all our blog posts with passion and love. This blog is about us and about our trips to encourage our audience to travel the world and see it’s beauty.  

I love story-telling & Videographer and Behrad loves adventures & photography. He is the planner and I am the blogger. It’s a perfect duo for a blog. Traveling and working in different continents through all those years, me as a chef and Behrad as a project manager, we’ve learned a lot about other cultures and the world around it that we would love to share with you.
