Yes Paris might be rainy, cloudy and crowded, but nothing beats that Parisian vibe, walking over those bridges and having the Eiffel tower always at the background. I love Paris and I lived 6 months in this beautiful city, as I took my cooking classes as a chef. And If you’re visiting this dreamy city, You have to put the most famous streets in Paris on your bucket list.

Paris is huge and no matter how often we go there, we always find a new fancy quarter. So I always update my post after each visit. In my guide, I’ll show you my favorite spots and the most vibrant Paris Streets that you will fall in love. I’ve also added my favorite restaurants and bakeries, so that you can enjoy the best of your time.

The Street in French

Before we start, just a short introduction to the word “Street” in French which is called “Rue”. So you’ll always see that at the beginning of each street, because unlike English it comes before the name of the street. Like for example: Rue Cler which literary means Cler Street.

10 Most famous Streets in Paris

1. Rue Cler

We love this vibrant Paris street, because it’s a paradise forfood lovers like us. Also it’s just some steps away from Eiffel tower and you can easily walk there. If you like markets and street food stalls with the smell of fresh bakery, this Paris road should be on your list to visit.

One of the most famous spots is the one and only Fromagerie, where you can find more than 100 types of french cheese. Me as a cheese lover, I really feel lost there and I normally spend a lot there, so be careful.

Another great shop is the legendary Mariage Frères which is a famous tea house established in 1854 and offers a fantastic high-quality teas of all kind. If you’re a tea-person like me, you’ll love it. My favorite is the Casablanca with green tea and sweet mint.

Photography tip:

Visit early in the morning to capture vendors setting up their stalls. A wide-angle lens will beautifully frame the market’s vibrant life.

And If tea and cheese is not for you, I suggest to visit Le Repaire de Bacchus which is a great wine shops. You’ll love the atmosphere and the expertise of the staff. Definitely always on our list.

Hotel recommendation in Rue Cler

If you’re looking for a budget-friendly stay which is only 15 minutes walk from Eiffel tower, Cler Hotel is a fantastic modern hotel and we really enjoyed our stay there. It’s a vibrant neighborhood and is good for the first-timers visiting Paris. Check the prices here.

2- Rue des Rosiers

Our second favorite street in Paris France is the Rue des Rosiers, which is located in the Marais district. We love this part of Paris, because very historical and charming with it’s narrow streets a kind of vibe you really see in the films from Paris.

It’s so difficult to choose the best places to visit in this district of Paris, as there are so many. But lets, stick to the most important ones like Place des Vosges, Musée Picasso Paris, Musée Carnavalet (free entry) and the famous Centre Pompidou.

Actually as we first saw the building, we thought it’s not finished, but it is done. Yes, it’s just the strange inside-out architecture, which makes it special. This revolutionary design was made in 1977 and is definitely worth a visit.

Although the interior is getting a major renovation right now and is closed till 2030 but you can visit the exterior, while visiting Paris.

Back to one of our most famous streets in Paris: Rue des Rosiers. One of the most iconic eateries in this street is the cute green shop of As du Fallafel and you should expect line-ups, but it’s a must-try. I am not a big fan of Fallafel but their Falafel Sandwich is just sooooo good.

Another favorite restaurant that we love to visit again and again is the Chez Marianne that serves fantastic charcuterie and also expect a line-up there during the lunch time, but don’t forget to try that. It should be on your list.

Where to Stay in Paris

Marais is one of the safest districts in Paris and we love to stay there. It’s central, vibrant and full of nightlife. But it’s also a bit crowded on weekends or during the high-season. Also it can be a bit pricy, as it’s one of the best areas in Paris.

If you’re looking for a boutique hotel in Paris, we suggest Hotel de JoBo, as it’s a 4-star boutique hotel, which is also on a quiet street. No wonder the high ratings. Book here!

3. Boulevard Saint-Germain

I just can’t tell you enough about this street. It’s not only one of the majour historical streets in Paris, but it’s also full of cute Parisian cafés and a more chill area of Paris. We love to just walk up and down the street. It’s also very charming and please don’t forget to visit the beautiful Church of Saint Germain.

Our favorite cafés are the famous Café de Flore and Les Deux magots. These are 2 of the most famous ones there. Saint-Germain is full of narrow streets, where you can find cute shops and Cafés, where people are sitting in front of each other and drinking Coffee or wine.

If you’re into luxury shopping, you should also visit Le Bon Marché, which is one of the oldest department stores in the world. You can easily spend the whole day there. there are lots of Pedestrian ways around this area with cozy and quite passages.

Must-Visit Places:

Rue Jacob should be on your list, as well as Place de Fürstenberg. Also we love the Rue de Buci which is so lively with food market and restaurants.

Although we’ve been to Paris several times, but we still love to find out more shops and streets. So my tip is to wear good shoes, so that you can walk a lot. The best part of this beautiful street in Paris to walk is the Saint-Germain-des- Pres neighborhood which is located at the 6th arroundissement.

You can also easily walk to the Louvre Museum if you just cross the Seine river. You can easily cross the Pont des Arts or Pont du Carrousel bridge for a scenic walk to the museum. Check my ultimate Paris guide here for more details.

4. Rue Montorgueil

Another one of the most beautiful streets in Paris, that we love to visit every time. It’s full of narrow cobblestone streets, Cafes and Parisian restaurants. It’s just a few minutes from Les Halles and the Musée des Arts et Métiers. What I love about this street is that it’s a mix of cute Parisian restaurants, trendy boutiques, bars and whatever shop you can just think of. .

You should definitely try baba au rhum at Stohrer, which is one of the oldest patisseries in Paris from 1730. Another one of my favorites is the Restaurant La Couronne which is offering traditional French dishes and believe me nothing beats their fantastic coq au vin dish (Chicken in red wine sauce).

Rue Montorgueil is also home to a beautiful Gothic curch with a beautiful architecture and organ, that you don’t want to miss. Visit Église Saint-Eustache church at the end of the street close to the Les Halles area. I also love the Parisian flower shops along the street, they are all so gorgeous.

5. Rue de Rivoli

If you like luxury shopping and elegant architecture, you should definitely visit Rue de Rivoli, which offers a breathtaking view of the Louvre Museum along the way. We love to walk down the street and visit our favorite places like Galeries Lafayette, Musée des Arts Décoratifs, which has a fantatic collection of fashion and textile.

Also Galleries Lafayette is one of the world’s most luxurious shopping mall and home to over 400 luxury brands. Even if you’re not into luxury, you should still visit this historical shopping Gallery in Paris. Also don’t forget to have a coffee on the rooftop and take the best photos of the city.

We love Galleries Lafayette during Christmas time, as it offers a breathtaking decoration and very festive atmosphere.

Also a good news for the hot chocolate lovers is the famous Angelina Tearoom in this street and I know that this is a teahouse but it has the best hot chocolate in Paris if you ask me. I also love the Mont Blanc Pastry very much.

6. Rue Saint-Honoré

It’s another luxury streets and a shopping paradise for luxury lovers but it’s also the home to some of the most important historical sights in Paris. So even if you’re not into luxury shopping and elegance, I would still take a walk there and enjoy the atmosphere.

It’s great for instagrammable photos, if you’re a luxury niche and the streets have the typical Parisian architecture. My favorite restaurant in Rue St Honoré is the fine Dining restaurant called Epicure which is located in the Le Bristol Paris Hotel, which is one of the most expensive hotels in Paris with an ultra luxury rooms and services.

This Restaurant is a three-Michelin-Star restaurant and it’s truly one in a kind experience. You should definitely book in advance, as it’s only per reservation. But believe me it’s definitely worth it.

Also Bar Hemingway is a legendary bar and a must-visit, which is located within the Ritz Carlton Hotel in Paris. As you can imagine, the walls are full with photos, letters and magazines related to Hemingway. It’s a kind of vintage-look Bar and has a deep history. We love to go there for a drink – get the bloody Mary if you’re fan of it. It’s fantastic.

7. Rue de Buci

In general we love the Saint-German-des-Prés quartier in Paris and this is one of the prettiest streets in Paris, located in the heart of this trendy street. It’s so cozy there and it’s filled up with Parisian restaurants and small boutiques. It feels like in a movie walking in a pretty small charming city.

If you’re a wine lover, go to Le Petit Verdot, since their wine selection is fantastic. Also if we loved the Les Deux Filles for it’s atmosphere and delicious brunch. Try the traditional freshly made crepes. On weekends you might need to wait long to be seated, so rather go during the week. But it’s definitely worth it.

8. Avenue des Champs-Élysées

I am sure that everyone knows what I’m talking about. I mean this street which is actually a boulevard (because it’s huge) is not only the most famous street in Paris but it’s the most famous street in the world. After visiting Paris so many times, still I’m in love with Champs-Élysées and can’t get enough from it.

The reason I brought it so towards the end of my post, is that I’m sure you all have it on your bucketlist to Paris, so I wasn’t sure if I should even mention it, but just to make sure, you’re visiting this iconic street in Paris.

Champs-Élysées is not just about the shopping and food scene, it’s about the views, atmosphere and history. It’s around 2 kilometers and easily walkable. You don’t even realize the distance between Arc de Triomphe and Place de la Concorde.

What to do on Champs-Élysées

What you should definitely visit is the one and only Arc de Triumph, which is located at the beginning of the street and take as much as photos you can. We normally stay close to this area to take the best pictures in the early morning.

It’s the most instagrammable spot in Paris. I also love the shop of Ladurée and to sit there for a macaron and coffee. Also the building of Louis Vuitton is another favorite spot. So you should definitely have your phone ready for many photos.

Also it’s the main shopping street in Paris. You can find from affordable brands to the most luxury ones. We normally don’t go to restaurants on the Champs-Élysées, as they are very touristy, but there are very good restaurants on the side streets.

9. Rue de la Paix

If you love brand jewelries and watches, this is your place to go. But as other streets in Paris, it’s not all about shopping and it’s also a bit of history and Parisian architecture. Start from the beautiful Place de l’Opera and enjoy the Opera neighborhood of Paris.

You’ll see the most iconic building like Palais Garnier and Opera Garnier on this square. From there you can walk along the Rue de la Paix with all the famous jewelry shops like Tiffany, Dior, Patek Philippe and much more.

This is also the center of haute couture in Paris, so a paradise for fashion bloggers. If you love Jewelry, you should visit Boucheron, the oldest jewelry houses in this street (it’s around 150 years old). We also love the coffee break at Café Pouchkine.

10. Rue Crémieux

If you’re an instagrammer or a photographer and want to visit only one street in Paris, this should be the one. Rue Crémieux is a true hidden gem and the most colorful street you can find in Paris.

Also it’s a pedestrian only area, so no cars will be in your photos. We love to go there early morning or at sunset to take the best shots. I really never get enough from this street and love to take a walk up and down. It’s adorable.

Rue Crémieux is also one of the most romantic Paris streets, which is a bit different from the Parisian street we all have in mind, due to it’s epic architecture.

10 Most Beautiful Streets in Paris

I must say that Paris has so many beautiful streets. I love to just walk around and I never get enough from this city. You might have seen the Emily in Paris, which always make me go back there, when I watch this series. So we’re always updating this post, after our visit to Paris, to add new hidden gems.

Even as we stayed in the financial district in Paris, it was still full of life and there are also fantastic hotels there. But we don’t recommend to stay there as a first timer, as it’s a bit of ride each time to reach the best attractions in Paris like Louvre or Arc de Triumph.
